MM STUDIO (2025 INTERNSHIP - Assistant Engineer)
During the summer of 2025, I interned at MM Studio, a recording studio in Bangkok known for working with many of Thailand's most legendary artists. The studio covers a wide range of genres, from rock and pop to soul and Thai folk.
I joined as an assistant engineer, helping with recording sessions by setting up microphones, patching bays, connecting mic preamps, and handling all the prep work that keeps a session running smoothly. I also got the chance to step in as recording engineer for a few sessions.
Over my time there, I worked on sessions with artists like Boyd Kosiyabong, No One Else, Pru, Thee Chaiyadej, and Lipta. I was also lucky to receive mentorship and advice from two of Thailand's most well-respected engineers, Patrick Chinnawong and Pongvitoon Srisai, whose knowledge and experience greatly shaped how I think about my craft.
It was an invaluable experience where I learned new mic techniques, tracking methods, the endurance required for long studio hours, and how to communicate effectively with different artists. It gave me a much deeper understanding of the craft and what it takes to run a great recording session.
A Lab (2024 - shadowing intern)
During the summer of 2024, I spent a week as a shadowing intern at A Lab Studio in Bangkok, a mixing and mastering studio specialising in vinyl mastering and Dolby Atmos mixing.
Although my time there was short, it gave me an invaluable look into a world of engineering that is deeply precise and detail-oriented at every step before a record is delivered. The work they do spans from analogue vinyl mastering and press testing to Dolby stem mixing and mastering.
It was a really eye-opening experience and one I genuinely wish I had more time in. I would go back in a heartbeat.
